The Timid Loner

I'm the one standing all alone
Hiding in the background
Standing still as stone
All the while uttering not a sound

I can't sort out the cyclone in my mind
All these thing happening around me
Desperately searching for more shadows to hide behind
Distraught about things impossible to forsee

I see the happy faces
I go green with envy
Sure about their paces
all joining the jubilee

I stand frightened
Unsure of what to do
standing unenlightened
unable to carry through

All I do is hope
For someone to see
for someone to help me cope
to break these unseen chains and set me free.
